Selena Gomez Breaks Down In Tears As She Pays Tribute To Late Friend Christina Grimmie

Selena Gomez gave an emotionally charged performance during the Miami leg of her Revival tour following the death of her close friend Christina Grimmie.

The 23-year-old singer dedicated song ‘Transfiguration’ to the 22-year-old who was tragically shot and killed by a fan in Florida last Friday evening.

Speaking to the audience, a visibly shaken and emotional Selena paid tribute to her close friend, saying: “When she was 14, we met her and my parents and I signed her.

“One thing about Christina and her family is that she holds her faith so closely to her. And I think it's not about a religion and it's not about anything or good deeds.

“It's just that she had faith, and I don't really understand how this really happened, but I would like to dedicate this next song to her.”

Christina, who came third on The Voice in 2014, had been performing with Before You Exit at The Plaza Live in Orlando, before heading to meet fans and sign autographs.

Her killer, Kevin James Loibl, later turned his gun on himself.
