Mass Shooting in Orlando Nightclub, Reports of Hostage Situation, Gunman Possibly 'Wearing a Bomb'

A mass shooting has taken place in a nightclub in Orlando, Florida, resulting in multiple injuries, police said, adding that they have conducted a controlled explosion in the area. Numerous reports say a gunman barricaded himself and hostages inside the club and allegedly shot at least 20 people.

The incident took place at Pulse night club.

At least 40 people, including one police officer, have been injured in the shooting, according to reports. An unconfirmed report circulating on Twitter says nine people were killed in the incident.
