Manchester United Gain Pogba Advantage, Rodriguez Latest & More Transfer Rumours
Paul Pogba is Jose Mourinho's priority and even Real Madrid's cheerleaders in the media think Man Utd now hold the advantage.
Jose Mourinho might be working his magic again, with AS reporting Manchester Unitedhave the 'advantage' over Real Madrid in the race to sign Paul Pogba.
Real have reportedly put 'negotiations on hold', while Pogba's wage demands could put a couple of noses out of joint (Sergio Ramos and Gareth Bale) at the club. AS adds Mourinho has 'placed himself between Madrid's prime summer objective waving a cheque book'.
M.E.N. Sport revealed a week ago Mourinho had prioritised signing Pogba to the extent he vetoed recruiting Miralem Pjanic from Roma, which allowed Juventus to sign the playmaker.
In more Real-United news, the Spanish giants reportedly value James Rodriguez at £50million, amid possible interest from United.
It has been apparent for a number of months that the Champions League winners would happily sell the 24-year-old this summer, although £60m was the previous fee quoted for Rodriguez
Yet Real now appear content to take a £13m hit on Colombia international, who enriched the 2014 World Cup. Rodriguez is, conveniently for United, a Jorge Mendes client and they need some stardust in attack, too. It just depends on whether Mourinho wants him.
Mourinho is convinced United will sign someone who will 'make everyone sit up straight', so maybe it will be Rodriguez who adjusts postures worldwide.
United are one of three Premier League clubs keen on Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata.
The 23-year-old is joint top scorer at Euro 2016 and is also interesting Arsenal and Chelsea, having returned to Real after a successful two-year stint at Juventus.
United are supposedly keen on Turkey international Ozan Tufan, who plays for Fenerbahce. The 21-year-old scored in Turkey's 2-0 Euro 2016 win over the woeful Czech Republic earlier this week.
And Ashley Fletcher has apparently rejected United's offer of a new contract from United. The 20-year-old enjoyed a fruitful loan spell at Barnsley last season, scoring in both of their Wembley wins as they earned promotion to the Championship.
Fletcher has been linked with numerous clubs in English football's second tier.
