The Beast wants a new job

Adebayo Akinfenwa confirmed his release from AFC Wimbledon after the Wombles’ League Two play-off final victory over Plymouth at Wembley, and urged managers of other clubs to ‘hit me up on the WhatsApp’.
The larger than life striker scored a stoppage-time penalty to send the travelling Dons into delirium, ensuring their place in the third tier for the first time in their history with a 2-0 win.
In his post-match interview on the Wembley surface, Akinfenwa spoke in a typically lively fashion to Sky Sports.
“It’s a beautiful feeling,” the 34-year-old said.
“But sidebar, I think I’m technically unemployed. So any managers out there, hit me up on the WhatsApp and give me a job.”

West Ham determined to keep Oxford

West Ham are determined to fend off Manchester United’s attempts to land starletReece Oxford.
Jose Mourinho wants to make versatile Hammers academy product Oxford, 17, one of the first signings of his Manchester United reign.
United are lining up a £10m move for the teenager, who can play in defence or midfield and has represented England’s under-19s.
But West Ham rate Oxford as the best talent they have produced since former United and England star Rio Ferdinand and insist there is no way he will be sold.
They also claim they have not yet received an official bid for Oxford from the Old Trafford outfit.

Has Carrick signed a new deal?

Michael Carrick has signed a new one-year deal at Manchester United, according to club legend Paddy Crerand.
The England midfielder’s contract is up at Old Trafford, and there had been rumours he could move on after a trophy-laden nine-year stint with the Red Devils.
However, Crerand, 77, speaking on MUTV, seemed to suggest Carrick had signed fresh terms with United.
He said: “You know something as well which happened today that nobody has mentioned? And I’m delighted he has signed another contract: Michael Carrick.
“He’s signed a contract for another year hasn’t he?”
Bemused presenter Mark Sullivan then said: “Well, we’ve not had an official word on that yet, so...”
